Origin:Minas Gerais and Bahia – Brazil
Chemical Formula Al₂SiO₅ (Aluminum Silicate)
Color: Most commonly blue, but also found in green, black, orange, and indigo
Hardness: Unusual dual hardness — 4.5 parallel to its length, 6.5–7 across the width
Crystal System: Triclinic
