Origin:South of Brazil, near Brazil- Argentina border
Chemical Formula SiO₂ (primarily silica, though technically a mineraloid rather than a true mineral)
Color: Jet black, deep brown, green, mahogany, or rainbow sheen varieties
Hardness: 5–5.5 on the Mohs scale
Crystal System: Amorphous
